MUSE Honors: The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles will inaugurate the MUSE Awards on Sept. 19 as a way of thanking supporters of the gay and lesbian choral movement. Initial recipients will be actress Bea Arthur, KUSC radio personality Bonnie Grice, Roger Bourland and John Hall, the composer and librettist of “Gay Legacies,” and Helen Speegle, president of the Gay and Lesbian Assn. of Choruses. Entertainer Charles Pierce will come out of retirement to host the benefit at the Bel Age Hotel. Cabaret singer Marilynn Lovell Matz will entertain.
