Tandy to Sell Multimedia Computer: Tandy Corp. announced a personal computer with built-in multimedia capabilities and an optional stereo amplifier. The computer, which Tandy calls “Sensation,” has voice mail and fax capability and an option to make the monitor a TV. The $1,999 computer is based on Intel Corp.’s 486 microprocessor and comes with 4 megabytes of memory, a 3 1/2-inch floppy disk drive, 107-megabyte hard drive and a CD-ROM drive. Multimedia computers can play software that combines text, sound, animation and photos.
