A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE?

Esperanto did not originate in Russia as Heinrichs wrote. It was invented by Dr. Ludwig L. Zamenhof, a Polish oculist and philologist.

Glendale Editor’s note: Zamenhof was born in 1859 in Bialystok, Poland, on the Polish-Russian border. At the time the city was occupied by Russia. He died in Warsaw in 1917.
