4 Killed, 37 Injured in Philippine Bombing

ZAMBOANGA, Philippines —
A homemade bomb exploded at the foot of a giant Roman Catholic crucifix in the southern Philippines on Sunday, killing at least four people and wounding 37 others, police said.
A police spokesman said the bomb went off while dozens of worshipers were lighting candles and praying below the crucifix at Fort Pilar, a popular Catholic shrine in the port city of Zamboanga, 500 miles south of Manila.
