GM, Ford and Chrysler Appeal Minivan Ruling: The Big Three auto makers appealed an International Trade Commission ruling that U.S. auto makers were not financially injured by alleged Japanese dumping of minivans in the United States. The auto makers asked the Court of International Trade in New York to overturn the ITC’s June 24 ruling, which rejected anti-dumping duties on Japanese minivans. The complaint by the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Assn., an industry trade group, charges that ITC commissioners underestimated the degree of competition between the United States and Japan in the minivan market. At issue were the Toyota Previa and Mazda MPV minivans.
