GENEVA : Peacemakers Move On

Having failed to make much headway toward resolving the Yugoslav crisis at a conference in London last week, the United Nations and the European Community will move their ever-expanding mediation efforts to Switzerland on Thursday.
Serbian, Croatian and Slavic Muslim leaders all have pledged to take part in the talks under the joint stewardship of the two international bodies responsible for peacemaking and peacekeeping.
But the London conference left in place the status quo of armed Serbian control over 70% of ravaged Bosnia-Herzegovina--a bargaining advantage for the aggressors unlikely to bring about the “peace with justice” sought by the Geneva talks.
