Mybar Buys Phoenix Inc.: Phoenix Press Inc. in Irvine, one of Southern California’s larger printers, has been sold.
The buyer is Mybar Printing Inc., also of Irvine, which said it put $3.5 million into Phoenix to acquire it. Mybar will continue to operate the company under the Phoenix name.
The sale follows the death in January of George Barkouras, founder and chief executive of Phoenix.
Phoenix, a printer of computer and software manuals, has a regional office in San Jose serving Silicon Valley.
