Raider Fans Don’t Wait to Make Their Move for a Quarterback Shift
The Raider coaching staff (including Al Davis) must be the worst decision makers in the NFL. Napoleon displayed better judgment at Waterloo than the Raiders did in the Denver debacle.
First, they decide to start Jay Schroeder over Todd Marinovich. Compounding the error, they elect to keep the sputtering, bungling Schroeder in the entire game.
And to prove their poor judgment isn’t limited to personnel decisions, they continually run the ball up the middle every time they are in the I-formation. If TNT announcers Pat Haden and Gary Bender can figure this out, why couldn’t the Bronco defense? They did and they made the proper adjustments. Did the Raiders counter? No, same play, again and again, with absolutely no success.
Raider fans should take heart. Nobody could be dumb enough to repeat those mistakes. But then again, didn’t I hear Art Shell say that he is not going to participate in a quarterback controversy?
