Colorado State took a 28-0 lead in the first quarter, but amazingly it didn’t hold up as Idaho came back to win, 37-34, Saturday at Fort Collins, Colo.

Mike Hollis’ 29-yard field goal with 46 seconds remaining capped the a 20-point fourth quarter for the Vandals.

Idaho quarterback Doug Nussmeier completed 22 of 33 passes for 390 yards and two touchdowns. Idaho (2-0) is ranked No. 9 in Division I-AA.

A fumble recovery set up a 31-yard touchdown pass to Sherriden May that tied the score at 34-34 with 3:57 left.

Utah 42, Utah State 18--Frank Dolce passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Runnin’ Utes beat the Aggies at Logan in both schools’ 100th football game anniversary.

Dolce, from Culver City High and Santa Monica College, passed for 376 yards, completing 25 of 42 attempts, for the Utes, who improved to 1-1 overall with the nonconference victory.

The Aggies (0-2) trailed only 20-18 at the end of three quarters, but it was all Utah in the final quarter.
