Development’s Price Too High

Share

It looks like we now have four months before the Ahmanson project (3,050 homes and 400,000 square feet of commercial space) will become a reality. According to Supervisors Maria VanderKolk and Vicky Howard, the approval process was speeded up because the developer feared that delays would jeopardize the combined project and contractual agreements with Bob Hope. Was this decision made in the best public interest or in the developer’s best interest?

I know many people are concerned about securing more than 10,000 acres of open space, but the price of $29 million plus allowing 3,050 homes plus 400,000 square feet of commercial space is just too high. Stop and think how radically this will affect your time on the freeway, your air quality, your school system, our wildlife.
