Looks Do Count: What do you pitch when commercial properties are a hard sell in a soft market? Curb appeal.
A recent survey by Sunset Property Services in Irvine shows that 98% of building owners and managers rated property maintenance “very important” to the financial health of their properties, including their ability to retain tenants, and 95% ranked it as “very important” to leasability.
In a soft market, with lease rates down and space standing empty, tenants demand better upkeep, one respondent noted.
The survey of 50 property owners and managers was conducted for Sunset Property by Gregory Stoffel & Associates, a market research and consulting company based in Irvine.
