PULPIT POWER

The Rev. Cecil Murray of the First African Methodist Episcopal Church has encouraged me to believe that whites and blacks can one day live peacefully together, instead of dwelling in the acrimony, lies and insult-hurling that now mark racial relations (“Power to the Pastor,” by Nina J. Easton, Aug. 16). His view that whites and blacks ought not be fighting is a refreshing change from the militancy and adolescent ranting that have long dominated black politics.
