Vehicle Sales Tumble in Japan: Domestic sales of cars, trucks and buses in Japan fell 4.4% in September to 466,252 units, the Japan Automobile Dealers Assn. said. After surging an average of 4.5% for 11 consecutive years, Japan’s vehicle sales began sliding last year as the economy lost steam. Sales fell 3.2% on the year to 7.52 million units in 1991, and analysts expect an overall sales decline again this year. Vehicle sales from January through September, 1992, were 4,088,733, down 5.7% from the same period last year.
