Share

The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to replace the police station’s leaky roof with one consisting of a new material guaranteed to last 30 years.

Public Works Director Robert K. Sandwick said the old roof, installed in 1984 and patched numerous times, leaked so badly in a July storm that the records department sustained water damage.

The new roof project, which will take about 10 to 15 days to complete, will cost $33,085. The station is to undergo remodeling and two additions in 1993, but Sandwick said that work will require only minor alterations in the new roof.
