Countywide : Supervisors Amend County Cable Pact
County supervisors Tuesday approved an amendment to a cable television franchise agreement that could net about $600,000 in additional revenue for the county’s general fund over the next 11 years.
Under the amendment to the Times Mirror Cable Television agreement, the additional revenue would come from franchise fees previously retained by Times Mirror for costs associated with operating public access programs and for construction of cable facilities in unserved areas.
The amendment will allow cities within the service area to negotiate their own government access agreements with Times Mirror.
