NO DINNER PLANS: The Building Industry Assn. routinely invited county Planning Commissioner Michael S. Potts to its awards dinner Monday night at the Irvine Marriott. Maybe someone forgot Potts is also executive secretary of the local Building and Construction Trades Council, and unions are boycotting all Marriotts because they use non-union labor. Potts politely declined. . . . He explains: “I wouldn’t go to my grandmother’s funeral if it was at a Marriott.”
