GM Unveils Redesigned Camaro, Trans Am: Preoccupied with rumors of sweeping management changes, the auto maker took a breather to offer a sneak preview of its redesigned 1993 Camaro and Trans Am. GM quietly unveiled the rounder Chevrolet Camaro and companion Pontiac Trans Am at the South Florida International Auto Show. The new models won’t reach dealers until January. The company is expected to sell only about 25,000 to 30,000 of the 1993 Camaros, which are being introduced in the middle of the model year. That compares to 1992 sales of more than 50,000. The 1993 models are a part of an attempt to help revitalize Chevrolet, once the mightiest of GM’s five car divisions.
