The $207-million Atlanta stadium proposed for the 1996 Olympics drew enthusiastic comments from officials, who got a look at plans for the 85,000-seat, three-tiered oval featuring exterior staircases.
After the Games, the Atlanta Braves will move there from Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. The Braves have not agreed to the stadium design, but a team official said there appeared to be no major obstacles to approving the project. As a baseball stadium, it will have 45,000 to 48,000 permanent seats.
