EDUCATION NEWS : New Chairman Named for Caltech Division

John Ledyard, professor of economics and social sciences at Caltech, has been named chairman of the Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences. He succeeds David Grether, professor of economics, who served as chairman for 10 years.
Ledyard graduated from Wabash College and earned his master’s and Ph.D. at Purdue University. He served on the faculties of Carnegie Mellon and Northwestern universities before coming to Caltech in 1985.
