2 Wrongs Don’t Make a Right

Share

I was surprised by “A Question of Rights” (Times Valley Edition Oct. 4).

You should have used the headline: “I Broke the Law . . . but . . . “

Torres has unlawful sex with a minor, goes to jail and then demands the courts give him custody of the child?

How hard is it to figure out the difference between right and wrong? It is no wonder our legal and court system is in chaos after reading this account of legal and moral drivel.

Printing this sort of story only helps perpetuate the problem. You are sending a real sick message: You can rape a minor and then keep the child resulting from your crime. Just say you loved your victim and claim your rights were violated.

Assemblyman Katz seems to be the only one in your article capable of distinguishing between right and wrong.

The judge should have put Torres back in jail along with his lawyer for even filing the lawsuit.
