Check It Out: Two years after Cincinnati raised a furor over an exhibit of explicit Robert Mapplethorpe photos, authorities have bought a copy of Madonna’s “Sex” book to determine if it violates obscenity laws. “If there is a feeling that the statute is being violated, we will prosecute,” a sheriff’s department spokesman said. “If it’s not being violated, we certainly would not want to engage in censorship.”
