Dole Food Co., based in Westlake Village, has promoted Charles W. Palmer to the position of senior vice president of the North American tropical products division of its Dole Fresh Fruit Co. subsidiary. Palmer will be responsible for all banana and fresh pineapple production in North America, and will oversee a newly acquired company that makes refrigerated fruit ripening systems.

Peter M. Nolan has replaced Palmer in his former position as vice president of sales and marketing for Dole Fresh Fruit. Nolan was previously vice president of sales in the West for Pet Inc.
