White Thai

Tired of Thai tea with your mee krob , pad Thai and yum yai ? Then try Thai Blanc, a lively dry white wine designed especially for spicy dishes. Produced by McKeon-Phillips Winery of Santa Maria, it’s made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes fermented in stainless steel to preserve fruitiness. The wine is high in alcohol (13.7%), which helps it cut through bold flavors. Winemaker Ardison Phillips, a Thai food fan, wants to export some of the first 700 cases to Bangkok. The rest will go to Thai restaurants and markets here. The label sports a devilish Thai mask and an endorsement by Victor Sodsook, chef of the Siamese Princess restaurant in Los Angeles.
