The Whining Stops as the Healing Starts

Share

Re “Stop That Whining!” (Nov. 4): Writer Elizabeth Mehren cited several examples of professionals who said the adult child/co-dependent movement has created an attitude: “I’m not at fault, so I can blame someone else for what’s wrong.”

That is true for those who never get past the initial phase of the recovery process (discovery of why our lives are out of control). Those who have been successful in all of the remaining steps know that accepting personal responsibility for all of the actions of our lives is where the true recovery process takes hold.
