The Whining Stops as the Healing Starts

Share

I read the article on adult children’s dysfunction, self-absorption, whining--much of it quotes from 12 handpicked, practicing morons. They criticized and made observations with no conception of what getting healthy means to an adult child.

I’ve been in program for almost three years, and I do not whine.

The “Golden Dung Award” goes to Sibyl Wolin for her brainy discovery and catchall phrase: “You just have to change.” Please. Just is not a word like abracadabra and things just happen. She does work with people, I presume, not amoebas. If, by any stretch of anyone’s imagination, adult children of alcoholics could just change, she and her colleagues would be noisily putting down some other program or organization that didn’t work their way.
