CASTING CALL / AUDITIONS

The Moorpark-based California Shakespeare Company has scheduled an open call for 20 men and six women, ages 14 to 60, to appear in its upcoming production of “Richard III.”

Auditions, to consist of cold readings from the text, will take place at the Company’s theater, 6685 Princeton Ave. (in Varsity Park Plaza), Moorpark. Readings will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Rehearsals begin Nov. 30, and performances are scheduled for Friday through Sunday evenings, Jan. 15-Feb. 14, 1993. For further information, call 498-3354 or 373-9243.

Polish up your Texas accents: auditions for Moorpark College’s upcoming production of “Daddy’s Dyin’ (Who’s Got the Will?)” will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1-3 at the campus’s Forum Theater.

The first cast meeting will be Dec. 15, rehearsals will begin Jan. 20, and performances are scheduled for March 4-6 and 11-13, 1993.

Anyone may audition, director Les Weider said, but those castmust enroll in the college’s Production and Performance class, in which they will receive three units of academic credit.

Del Shores’ comedy centers on an extended small-town family’s search for their dying patriarch’s last will and testament; things get all warm and cuddly when the members of the group learn about themselves and one another. For further information, call director Weider at 378-1469.
