Hail to the Chief

Unlike the readers whose letters were published last Sunday, I actually look forward to, and enjoy, listening to Daryl Gates on KFI-AM.

He has a pleasant personality, nice voice, good sense of humor, and he treats his callers with dignity--even those who disagree with him. In short, he is everything that his predecessor, Tom Leykis, was not.

Speaking of Leykis, he once advocated that Gates be fired as chief of police. Now Gates has Leykis’ old job. Ain’t life grand!
