NEWPORT BEACH : Decorators Sought for Christmas Tree
The Balboa Island Improvement Assn. is inviting islanders to help decorate a community Christmas tree that will stand on the corner of Marine and Park avenues.
Residents are encouraged to bring ornaments to adorn the 12-foot-tall tree from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
On Dec. 12 and 13, residents will again be called upon to take part in the Island Christmas walk to sing Christmas carols.
Santa will be stationed by the community tree to greet the island’s children at 3 p.m. on Dec. 20.
Lampposts on the island will be decorated with wreaths and lights to contribute to the festive holiday season, according to the Balboa Island Improvement Assn. President RalphRodheim.
All decorations are being paid for by an anonymous donor who lives on the island, he said.
Rodheim said that the special holiday activities are geared toward increasing the involvement of residents on Balboa Island.
