Share

The city is looking for volunteers to fill two posts on the Disabilities Advisory Board.

Julie Anello, spokeswoman for the board, said its main function is to help people with disabilities find jobs, affordable housing, child care, social and recreational activities, information and most importantly, transportation.

“We need to find concerned citizens who are interested . . . (in) programs for people with disabilities and who will be able to attend the meetings twice a month,” Anello said.

She also said that transportation remains the most crucial problem facing the disabled in the city, although a local service, Tailored Residential Irvine Paratransit, is being offered.
