SOMBER TIMING: When retired Lt. Col. John C. Harrell of Anaheim agreed to read Monday from his new book of war poetry, “Twenty Years,” he says he didn’t realize it would be Pearl Harbor Day. “But it’s appropriate,” says the Vietnam vet. “It’s not happy poetry. But I hope it will make people think--and remember.” Harrell will read at Rancho Santiago College, where he studied poetry, at 3 p.m., and the Casa Palma restaurant in Santa Ana at 8 p.m.
