IRVINE : IVC Registration for New Students Opens
Registration for new students at Irvine Valley College began this week for spring semester classes.
Students are encouraged to apply early for admission because the most popular classes fill quickly, college spokesman George McCrory said. Students who apply this week still might be able to get a December appointment to sign up for classes, he said. After Friday, the next class registration period will be Jan. 5 to 8.
As part of the new state budget, student fees will rise this semester from $6 to $10 a unit. Students with bachelor’s degrees also for the first time will pay a higher fee--$50 a unit.
New students should apply in person to the college from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday, the hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For recorded registration information, call (714) 559-3220.
