Boy Scouts

I read “Boy Scouts Seek Donations to Defray Litigation Costs” (Dec. 6), which mentions that the charity organization, United Way, gives the Boy Scouts $300,000 yearly.

I think that would-be donors to the United Way should consider withholding any donations to that group until the Boy Scouts organization opens its membership to all boys, regardless of what their religious beliefs are.

I certainly don’t want any of my donations funding an organization that practices religious discrimination against part of our population. And I certainly don’t intend to donate to the United Way while this funding continues.
