NEW TITHING? Blood donations are low this month--always the case for the Christmas holiday season, when the usual donors get busy with family activities. But the Santa Ana chapter of the Red Cross has a plan to reverse the trend: a special collection on Jan. 3, which it is calling “Save-A-Life Sunday.” . . . . The chapter is arranging for area churches to host bloodmobiles that day and to appeal to their congregations to help out.
