National Semiconductor, Toshiba in Memory Pact: National Semiconductor Corp. and Toshiba Corp. have agreed to a long-term partnership to design, manufacture and license so-called flash memory technology for computers. Under the 10-year agreement, Santa Clara-based National Semiconductor will gain immediate entry to the market for flash memory, which is one of the most advanced forms of memory available and provides the advantages of being erasable and rewritable at an affordable cost.
