World IN BRIEF : BRITAIN : Five Hurt in IRA London Bombings

Two bombs planted by the Irish Republican Army slightly injured five people and shut down London’s busiest shopping district for four hours. Traffic returned to normal at nightfall, and the department store hit in the attack reopened for Christmas shopping. Police said that three phone calls claiming to be from the IRA warned shortly before the blasts that a bomb had been planted on Oxford Street.
