Nation IN BRIEF : TENNESSEE : FBI Probing Beating of Black Officer
The FBI is looking into whether the beating of a black undercover police officer by white uniformed officers during a traffic stop violated federal civil rights law. Metro Nashville undercover officer Reggie Miller said he was kicked, kneed and had his eyes gouged by fellow officers who stopped him for driving a department-issued, undercover truck with expired tags. Five officers are on leave with pay while the case is investigated. Two of them have police department hearings and face dismissal or verbal reprimand for their actions.
