Voice for Religious Right’s Majority

I want to commend Dana Parsons for allowing Dan Jones the chance to explain what most conservative Christians stand for. The Times has made great efforts in the past to allow the many divergent groups in our community to express their views and concerns. However, I don’t ever recall reading an article in The Times where this opportunity was provided to conservative Christians.

Conservative Christians, like all other socially active groups, do not appreciate being stereotyped based on the actions of a few outspoken extremists. If Dana Parsons surveyed conservative Christians, he would find the majority think more like Dan Jones than the Rev. Lou Sheldon.

The conservative Christians I know wish to promote biblically based values in a sincere attempt to help individuals and improve society. We would not force our beliefs on anyone, but rather ask that our views be presented fairly and accurately.

Much thanks to Dana Parsons for going against the current trend in the media by allowing a responsible, conservative Christian to speak for himself.
