HUNTINGTON BEACH : College Sponsors Study in Costa Rica

The Coast Community College District’s study abroad program will sponsor a semester in Costa Rica Jan. 9 through April 24.

Participants will spend the semester in San Jose, Costa Rica, and earn a full semester of college credit. Courses of study include biology, English, political science, speech and Spanish.

The program includes living with a Costa Rican family with daily breakfast and dinner, fully transferable college credit and several field trips.

Participants will visit a national park, a research station, a rain forest and the Poas Volcano.

The program fee of $4,055 includes round-trip air fare from Los Angeles to San Jose, airport transfers, family stays, excursions, meals during field trips, insurance and orientation materials.

The trip will be led by Sharron Clark, a Golden West College biology instructor, and Lou Ann Hobbs, a Golden West College librarian, and Thomas Hobbs, a Golden West speech communications instructor.
