EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio —
Seventy-five people arrested during a protest at a hazardous waste incinerator were fined $150 each and given suspended 10-day jail sentences Monday in a plea bargain.
All were accused of trespassing on Waste Technologies Industries property during the Nov. 22 demonstration. Protesters hope to stop the incinerator from beginning operations. It is along the Ohio River, near an elementary school and a residential neighborhood.
