New Home Sales Drop: Sales of new homes in Southern California totaled 8,304 units in the third quarter of 1992, down 2% from both the second quarter of last year and the third quarter of ’91. The Meyers Group, a research firm, said quarter-to-quarter sales rose 29% in Los Angeles County and 10% in San Bernardino. Sales were down 20% in Orange County, 7% in Riverside, 11% in San Diego and 21% in Ventura County. Sales in the first nine months of 1992 totaled 25,909 homes, down 22% from a year earlier.
