National Health Care Reform

Regarding your editorial, I wish to convey two suggestions, having observed medical practice over the last two decades:

- Eliminate the managed-care garbage. The failure to control costs of health care since these outfits came into existence should be obvious to everyone. All they have achieved so far are to interpose themselves between physician and patient and take money from both.

- Let Kaiser and similar organizations accept patients without regard to their ability to pay, for after all we, the private physicians and community hospitals, do, especially serving in the emergency room.
