A passion for chocolate could mean a trip to Mexico. To entice you to see “Like Water for Chocolate,” Mexico’s Academy Awards entry for best foreign-language film, Miramax Films is sponsoring a cooking contest. Come up with a recipe that contains chocolate and expresses the passion of the film and you’ll win an all-expenses-paid trip to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Entrees must be typed, double-spaced, with your name, address and phone number on the upper right corner of an 8 1/2x11-inch piece of plain white paper. Barron’s Family Restaurant, on the other hand, requires only legible penmanship for its Dinner and Flowers for You & Your Sweetheart contest. Stop by the Burbank restaurant before Feb. 11 and fill out an entry form for the giveaway drawing. The winner receives a gift certificate for dinner for two and flowers on St. Valentine’s Day.
