Deals Galore: It is early to sing hallelujah, but a few interesting things are happening as 1993 begins:

Consultant Hamilton reports that his company is representing several Japanese investment consortiums that are looking for residential development deals in and around Orange County. “We are doing the due diligence (financial investigation) on two deals in Orange County right now,” he said. Both are land purchases, one for $3 million and one for $9 million. Hamilton said his company also is acting as broker for 35 custom home lots in Dove Canyon and is in the early stages of negotiation with a developer who is interested in buying the whole batch of lots.

Little birdies report that at least four other land deals are in the offing in Dove Canyon and that other raw parcels that have sat idle in Foothill Ranch, Coto de Caza and Portola Hills are being eyeballed by interested buyers.

Finally, Gordon Tippell--acting in his new, non-executive capacity--says that Taylor Woodrow California is negotiating to acquire land for a development in the Irvine Co.’s Newport Coast.
