Negligence Suit Against GM Goes to Jury: A negligence suit filed against General Motors Corp. headed into final deliberations this week after four weeks of testimony in a Georgia state court. The suit claims that 17-year-old Shannon Moseley of Snellville, Ga., who was struck by a drunk driver in 1989, died in a fire hastened by the design of his GMC pickup truck’s fuel tank. GM contends the youth died of a head injury caused by the impact of the crash. If the jury decides against GM, there will be a hearing on the amount of punitive damages that will be awarded to the Moseley family.
