Countywide : Rain, High Surf May Hit Parts of County

Share

A winter storm from the Pacific may bring high surf and up to a half-inch of rain to parts of Ventura County starting today, weather forecasters said Wednesday.

The windy storm system is working its way down the coast from Alaska, said meteorologist Dean Jones of WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times.

“The heaviest activity will be north” of Ventura County, Jones said. In the county area, “we’re looking at a shot of rain Thursday and Friday, a break and then another shot of rain Sunday.”

Waves could swell to 8 to 10 feet, Jones said. Daytime temperatures will range from the high 60s to the low 70s through the weekend, with night temperatures dipping into the high 30s to low 40s.
