LOS ANGELES COUNTY : TV Reporter Satz Died of Heart Attack, Autopsy Finds

Share

A Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman said Friday that an autopsy has concluded that award-winning television reporter Wayne T. Satz died of natural causes, a heart attack due to a deformity of a valve that caused his heart to work harder than normal.

Spokesman Scott Carrier added that toxicological tests performed since Satz, 47, died on Dec. 24 showed no alcohol or drugs in his system.

“The deformity caused irritability to the heart muscle,” Carrier said. “Known commonly as a floppy valve, it prevents the blood from going in a regular way from one chamber of the heart to another.”
