Banks Report Higher Demand for Business Loans: Demand has increased for business loans and leveled off for household loans this winter, a Federal Reserve System survey of banks found. Terms of business loans have remained unchanged since the Fed’s last survey in November, while some banks reported “an increase in their willingness to make loans to individuals,” including home mortgages. Fifty-eight domestic banks and 18 foreign bank branches participated in the latest survey. The survey also found that most bankers are comfortable with their capital positions.
