Science Fights Back: Leukemia Link Found

Share

The review of the book “Science Under Siege” (Jan. 5) appears to have been written by someone unaware of the important findings of Swedish researchers released this fall.

The researchers found significant evidence linking the increased risk of childhood leukemia to residential proximity to power lines. As a result, the Swedes are expected to be taking action to lower exposures to electromagnetic fields.

So much for the reviewer accepting the book’s claim that such types of cancer are “largely an artifact of one man’s crusade” and the result of “indirect environmental terrorism (employing) mass media to infect the public with his obsession.”

Your reviewer might have further noted similar indications from the London/Peters study on childhood leukemia and exposure to EMFs. It was done right here in Los Angeles and released last year too.
