Alhambra : Center Closing for Repairs

The Joslyn Center for seniors will close from Monday through May 15 for a $174,000 renovation project funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Senior services will continue at city parks.

Renovations will include putting slip-resistant tile in the entryways, adding lightweight doors to all rooms and installing automatic sliding entrance doors. The parking lot will be redesigned to create a turnaround for easy drop-off and pick-up.

The Senior Lunch Program will continue from 11 a.m. to noon weekdays at Almansor Park, 800 S. Almansor St. Other senior clubs, social events, games and classes will be at Alhambra Park, Emery Park, Granada Park and Marengo Center.
