PLATFORM : Fair Play Needed

It’s unfortunate but necessary for NOW to file suit against the CSU system to force those in power to comply with equality-in-education laws.

Without this action, the inequity between the men’s and women’s athletic programs will continue. While I hope the men’s athletic programs do not have to suffer, it is imperative that women who participate in collegiate sports be treated the same way men have been treated since the inception of the NCAA.

The training and sacrifice that many of these women endure to improve in their sport is every bit as taxing as with the men. It’s too bad, though, these changes couldn’t have come from within, and that it takes a lawsuit to change things. And I know it will be a challenge to make the changes that have been so long in coming.
